Previously, we looked at the mindset of success and how there are things that can stand in your way of achieving your dreams. I had you ask some questions to determine if you were at a place where you could move forward, without doing some work on my mindset.
If you need to go back to see what I’m talking about, visit the previous post and take the action steps that I gave you, in that post.
Getting things in perspective
Now, sometimes you may feel like you can’t do something because you lack the know how. When this is an issue, you still shouldn’t completely stop…especially today.
We live in a day and age where all you have to do is a little research to find out what you need. From there you can create a plan of success.
If you haven’t already dealt with your mindset or your issues with taking action, you are going to have to do that to move forward and be effective.
I make this distinction for a reason. It is easy to move forward and to continually do the work of moving forward, but the issue that I see with this is that your actions should be effective in getting you the results that you want.
If your mindset is still one that causes you to stand in the way of your success, you have to pause for a moment to evaluate yourself and to determine how you can change things.
Maybe you are an entrepreneur and you feel overwhelmed because you don’t have the skills to operate your business online.
Knowing that this is how you feel and being honest with yourself, about it is the first step to getting to that next level.
How can you progress without the mindset and the skill? Well, the truth is that you can’t. You will have to take action, so that you can move forward in life and business.
Since you previously looked at your mindset, today I encourage you to take a look at your skills.
Action Steps
- Take a few moments to make a list of the skills that you feel you need in order to be successful in your life/business.
- On a scale of 1-10, rate where you currently are with those skills. (1 being that you have no experience and zero knowledge about the topic)
- Define the area of your life/business that will be improved when that skill is obtained and utilized
- Determine which of these areas is most important for you to focus on first and why.
Knowing these things will help you to focus on what you believe is most important and to take action. If you aren’t quite sure about the priority of these areas, or any part of this, leave me a comment or send me an email, so that I can help you. ([email protected])
