A few months ago, I went through a very hard experience. I wasn’t quite sure how things had gotten so bad, but I was very overwhelmed and stressed. I wanted to help everyone, but I honestly didn’t have the strength to do it, so I did what needed to be done and I allowed others to do the rest. This was true in various areas of my life.
This type of situation can come up often for us, as women, and there’s a common reason for it. We live in a world that demands a lot from us. It is always telling us to keep going, push, don’t sleep, grind, work harder, be smarter, be the best, and so much more. If you are like me, a mother and wife, then you can find yourself exhausted, if you listen to the world.
Now these problems that I have listed are worldy problems, but what about those problems that cause your soul to ache? I have a few friends that have found themselves stressed and stretched because of their heart aches. Recently, they have felt like they could not go on and wanted to give up on life. I recognize the words that they say and the tone of their voice because, well, there was a time when I felt the same way, in the past.
In those times, its very common to want to run away from the world and hide. In those moments of utter regret, tormenting fear, or nagging anxiety, it is normal to feel that no one and nothing can help the situation. Crawling up in a corner sounds like the best thing to do, to a person that is dealing with heart and soul aches.
No one wants to tell people what’s happening in marriages, how hard parenting is, or that you just don’t have the strength to be it all and do it all.
If you stop and think about it for a moment, this is where some of our loved ones go missing. Women that we know across the globe, sit in the shadows crying because they feel inadequate, alone, and lost. They know that there is something different available for them, but they aren’t sure how to get it, so they hide.
They stay in the dark shadows, never realizing their potential. They forget that they have talent. They neglect the gift of God that has been placed in them. They say things like “Who am I to say something? I can’t help anybody!”
Well, I’ll be the first one to tell you that there is something in you that someone else needs. That’s why you are always being hit so hard with the trials of this life. It happens to the best of us.
Sure, you get knocked off your horse, but you can’t stay there. You have to get back up. You have to listen to the Spirit of God saying to come out of the darkness and into the light.
